Endless Beaches

Georgian Bay offers miles of beaches and a wide variety of water sports including kayaking, canoeing, boating & swimming and fishing.  Free Spirit Tours is the local water specialist, offering canoe or kayak excursions on the Beaver & Nottawasaga Rivers, and sea kayak adventures from their rental kiosk at Northwinds Beach in Craigleith. 

Top Beaches in the Ares Include:

• Wasaga Beach, a Blue Flag Beach, is about a 15 minute drive from Collingwood and is the longest freshwater beach in the world.
• Christie Beach, a sand beach located at the  end of Christie Beach Road, off Highway 26 west of The Town of The Blue Mountains.
• Northwinds Beach Close to Craigleith Provincial Park, and across the road from the historic Craigleith Depot. 
• ​Sunset Point Park located in Collingwood, a rock beach and large park. Memorial Park in Meaford Northwinds, Christie Beach, Craigleith Provincial Park and Peasmarch Beach.

Fishing:

Rivers such as the Bighead, Beaver, Pretty and Nottawasaga offer anglers perfect river fishing for rainbow, splake and salmon. In the spring, as the fish move in closer the shoreline is full of shore fishers and in winter the harbour is dotted with ice huts.
